History

West Covina is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States. Located 19 miles (31 km) east of downtown Los Angeles in the eastern San Gabriel Valley, it is part of Greater Los Angeles.

The Tongva were the earliest inhabitants of the San Gabriel Valley. Governor Pío Pico sold much of the land of West Covina to John Rowland and William Workman in 1845. The first permanent settlers arrived in West Covina in 1905.
